This limited release pours black with a paper thin layer of tan foam that dissipates completely. There is quite a bit of bourbon and chocolate on the nose. As the bottle says this is the bba for the stout lover so it packs some heat but is not overdone. You get a good bit of dark bitter chocolate, espresso, and molasses mixed in with the bourbon. Hints of oak from the barrel round out this beer in a perfectly harmonious way. I haven’t had the opportunity to try this limited release in past years, so I was ecstatic to get my hands on this. I understand the hype about this beer; it’s extremely well done. I would definitely buy this regularly if possible; it’s low on the sweetness level, while still balancing lots of flavors with the bourbon and all in a low carbonated, medium body 12 oz package with a 11.2% abv. I wish you luck in finding a bottle because it’s well worth the hunt.
