This quad pours a medium toffee color with lots of floaters and a white foam head that dissolves fairly quickly. It looks highly carbonated going into the glass, but it’s moderately smooth. It’s medium bodied with a small amount of heat from the bourbon barrels. The nose is a good bit of caramel and cherry. There is a creamy mouthfeel and a well-balanced amount of cherry, toffee, fig and oak. There is slight sweetness from the malts and no taste of hops. At 11.8% it’s very easy drinking. This is an exceptional barrel aged quad, with a bit of spice, fruit, bourbon and oak with a little bit of tartness from the cherries.
