This sour pours a gorgeous red raspberry color with light pink foam. There is a lot of fresh raspberry on the nose. Always good if you can decipher the synthetic from real flavors in the smell. This is a crisp and easy drinking sour with a bit of pucker to it without being overdone. The fruit is rounded out by a hint of oak from barrel aging. I’ve been a fan of sours since the beginning so I never shy away from the extremely tart, but this would be a great beer for someone wanting to test the sour waters. It is light to medium bodied with medium carbonation so perfect for a summer or fall afternoon. At 5% you can feel good about enjoying a pint of this after all it is basically just fruit, right?!? As the first in their sour series I am glad I now only live a few blocks away from this brewery.
